The Hero's Journey Narrative Essay

Today I will: 
-Define a new vocabulary word, and develop an example, non-example, draw a picture and develop a showing sentence using the vocabulary word.
-Describe a childhood memory using show-not-tell writing and sensory imagery by writing a paragraph.
-Identify the elements of a narrative, analyze a prompt, and begin to map out student’s own hero’s journey (as it relates to their  life)

-Block 1 & 4 HW: Cyclops worksheet
-Block 2 HW: Essay organizer

Blocks 1 & 4:
1. Bellwork Vocab: mutinous
2. Introduce Hero’s Journey Essay
3. Work on Essay Organizer

Block 2 ONLY:
1. Bellwork Vocab: mutinous
2.Finish reading "The Cyclops" and complete 
   this assignment 
3. The Cyclops film clip.  Begin at minute 14, end at minute 25.
4. Writing: Childhood memories

Homework:
Blocks 1 & 4: Essay Organizer due tomorrow
Block 2: Finish Cyclops assignment (due tomorrow)
Honors: Read 1/3 more of your novel and complete DJ's 2 and 3 by Tuesday, 11/8
